Guidelines for maintaining the stability and integrity of your research peptides from receipt through reconstitution.
Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. A stable room temperature environment is generally sufficient. Avoid exposure to humidity, which can cause clumping and accelerate degradation of the lyophilised powder.
When adding bacteriostatic water, ensure it is at room temperature. Do not shake the vial. Instead, gently swirl to allow the peptide to dissolve without disrupting its structure.
Direct the liquid against the side of the vial rather than onto the lyophilised cake to minimise mechanical stress on the peptide.
Store the solution in a refrigerator (2–8 °C). Freezing is not recommended, as it may damage the peptide structure. Avoid repeated temperature changes, as fluctuations can accelerate degradation.
Keep the vial sealed and protected from light when not in use.
There is no exact expiry once reconstituted; however, peptides gradually lose potency over time. As a general guideline, use within 28–56 days, depending on the specific peptide's stability.
Lyophilised peptides stored correctly prior to reconstitution typically remain stable for 12–24 months. Refer to individual product specifications for guidance.
